2008 limited edition holiday ornament

Here is my sixth annual holiday ornament! 

With all the turmoil in the world today, here is a clear message of what I pray we will create more of, Shalom, Peace in Hebrew. And as a firm believer that our intentions are very powerful, this ornament also allows you to include your own special intentions!

Dangling from the bottom of the ornament is a Prayer Box charm that opens & closes and inside each Prayer Box I have included a blank piece of paper. This can be used to write your own special intention or prayer—a personal wish if the ornament is for yourself or your family, or a special wish for the person you are giving it to. Here's a closeup:

 

In addition, this year’s Shalom Ornament has all the special features of past ornaments:
Hand assembled & made here in Connecticut (my studio, to be precise!)
Made out of approximately 60% post-consumer recycled materials
Limited Edition
Acid free, museum quality board
Hand-done paste papers
Silk screened calligraphic print

Below is a picture of the paste paper being made. In order to achieve the rich purple color for the silk screened print, I put down 2 layers of purple to get the needed intensity. The lighter purple & gold background color is also paste paper done though that is done on rice paper.
