A portion of the fee goes to copyright fees for the right to use the images.

Online, up to the library.
In-person class: 20 participants

In-person classes do have a mileage reimbursement fee from my studio in North Granby, Connecticut, to the class location and back. I follow the IRS mileage reimbursement rate.

Materials fee: If I am providing supplies, there will be a supply fee of $20 for the program.

SUMMARY
This workshop introduces large fairy tale-like decorated letters that include ocean creatures. The goal of the program is to get participants exploring color combinations, blending and shading with colored pencils. By providing participants with letters and creatures they can trace, they can focus on playing with color rather than fretting over the drawing process.

The program starts with a quick chat about decorated letters, some historical samples and the impact they have on design. At the beginning of class, students will have chosen and printed out a versal letter outline (black and white) and an animal handout. Colored pencil techniques will be discussed while participants work on their decorated letter.

MATERIALS

2) Ocean critter worksheet of their choice

Ocean Tails! Make your own fanciful Ocean Tail letter! No drawing or lettering experience is necessary. Letters and ocean creatures are available to trace. Calligrapher Debby Reelitz will guide you on the journey of creating your very own fanciful creature wrapped around a decorative letter. We’ll be using colored pencils to bring our drawing to life!
